Homemade Febreze

I have used this simple little concoction for a few years now, and as I was refilling my bottle, I decided to hop on here real quick and tell you about what I refer to as ‘My Homemade Febreze’.

Now, it doesn’t smell like Febreze or have any of the ingredients that Febreze has.

So, if you’re expecting a copycat recipe – that’s not what this is. It smells great, with a really ‘clean’ smell to it.

And I use it much like I’d use febreze fabric refresher or any other air freshener, except I also use this to wipe down my counters and such too.

It makes the whole house smell really good.

How to Make Homemade Febreze

It’s super easy with only 2 ingredients mixed together in a spray bottle.

I use Purify essential oil from Eden’s Garden that I purchase on Amazon. I have never found another essential oil that smells as ‘clean’ as this one doesand I adore it.

This isn’t any sort of sponsored post whatsoever – and the company isn’t one of those essential oil companies that you have to purchase through a home sales representative.

You can get it in a 1oz size and you can get a large bottle of it (4oz). I usually get the large bottles because the value is usually better that way – and since I know I love it, I know I’m gonna use all of it.

But, if you’ve never tried it before – a 1oz bottle might be better so you can be sure that you really like it first.

Homemade Febreze Recipe

The ‘recipe’ is just water with the Purify essential oil added. I usually use a ratio of 1 cup of water to about 12 drops of essential oil, but you can always add a little more or less if you like.

I just pop it into my spray bottle & spray it around the house for an instant refresher. I also like to use this combination in my diffuser. It just smells so clean.

  • 1 cup of water

Ingredients

  • Combine all the ingredients in a spray bottle & shake. Use as you'd use fabric refresher or air refresher.
  • I also like to use this as a light household cleaner. It smells so good!

I make mine by using 1 cup of cruelty free fabric conditioner in a household spray bottle then filled up with water.

    1. Apparently the company has recently changed the name of the product to from ‘Purify’ to ‘Breath of Fresh Air’. Thank you for alerting me to this as I had no idea there was a recent name change.
