Cinnabon French Toast

Ever since I first heard the word ‘Cinnabon’, I have been an enormous fan.  Just that one word sparks dances in my taste buds and mouth-watering cravings.

I remember when we got our first Cinnabon store in the town I lived in when I was a teenager.  It was in the mall, and every time Mama and I set foot in that area, we would find ourselves indulging in a warm gooey Cinnabon cinnamon bun.

I was just visiting Mama the other month, and we just had to make time to get in that mall so we could enjoy us a cinnamon roll or two.

Recently I was scrolling through my emails when one caught my eye—an email from someone at Cinnabon of all places!

Y’all, they were asking if I’d be willing to turn my absolute favorite cinnamon bun into Cinnabon French toast. I about fell out of my chair!

They didn’t have to ask me twice.  I was all over that one!

What did I think of the whole Cinnabon french toast creation, you ask?  I think – why on EARTH had I not thought of this before?

All this time, I’ve been missing this decadent gooey cinnamon-y concoction?  My taste buds felt a little betrayed, but thankful they finally had a taste at the same time.

Cinnabon French Toast Ingredients:

  • Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls (Sliced in Half): Instead of regular bread, we’re using soft, sweet, and cinnamony Cinnabon rolls. Slicing them in half helps soak up the egg batter.
  • Whole Milk: This keeps the batter smooth and creamy. It also helps the French toast stay nice and soft instead of drying out.
  • Egg: Eggs help everything stick together. They also give the French toast the classic, slightly custardy texture.
  • Vanilla Extract: Just a little splash adds a warm, sweet flavor that brings out all the goodness in the cinnamon rolls.
  • Butter: Butter is what makes everything golden and delicious. It gives the French toast a crispy, buttery crust when it hits the pan.

How to Make Cinnabon French Toast

Make the Egg Mixture: In a shallow dish, such as a pie dish, whisk together an egg with the milk and a splash of vanilla extract.

Slice the Cinnabon Rolls: Cut the Cinnabon rolls in half, making sure to use a butter knife so that you don’t slice your tongue open when you lick the frosting off of it.  You know, just a warning because I know if you’re anything like me, you’re gonna be doing this too.

Dip into Egg Mixture: Dunk each cinnamon bun half into the milk/egg mixture, taking care to dunk both sides in there to get it good and saturated.

Get Your Pan Ready: Melt a little bit of butter in a skillet or griddle, and cook on each side for a couple of minutes until golden brown or until desired doneness.

Oh my! Does it get better than that?

    1. You should be using pre-cooked cinnamon rolls. The Cinnabon rolls are sold precooked at their stores 🙂
